Year 2’s Trip

What an amazing day we have had!!

We began our day by rock pooling on Mount Batten beach! We worked together to find different creatures that live in the rock pool habitat. We couldn’t believe how many limpets, sea snails and crabs we could find! We even found anemones, brittle stars and shrimp!

We protected the habitat by being careful with the rocks and returning the animals to the place we found them.

In the afternoon, we explored the National Marine Aquarium. We were Curious Cats and asked lots of questions to further our learning.

A huge thank you to the staff at The National Marine Aquarium who guided us through the day, answered our questions and taught us lots of interesting facts.

Fact of the day:

- crabs sometimes carry an upside-down jelly fish on its back for protection!
